Versace Unveils Fall Campaign

Versace turned to Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott to photograph the brand’s ad campaign, which picks up where February’s fashion show left off. Model Elza Luijendijk, styled by Joe McKenna, sports the same bluntly razored bangs and bleached eyebrows seen on the fall runway, delivering Donatella Versace’s Gothic and edgy underground inspiration. Photographed in a studio in London, Luijendijk poses on large cement blocks with chunky metal chains and a painted marine backdrop. The black-and-white images accent the contrasts between light and shade in the campaign, the third for the photographers with Versace. The men’s campaign features Philipp Schmidt, Dmitriy Tanner and Kacey Carrig, and was styled by David Bradshaw.

Angelina Jolie’s Jewels on Show

Jeweler Robert Procop is heading to the South of France this summer to showcase Style of Jolie, the designs he creates in collaboration with Angelina Jolie, along with a number of pieces from his own Exceptional Jewels collection. From July 15, the jeweler will hold two pop-up showcases, at the Grand Hotel in Cap Ferrat and at the Hotel de Paris in Monaco, which will concurrently run through to Aug. 15. “It’s the one place where everyone loves to spend their summer,” said Procop. Jolie, whose engagement ring Procop created with Brad Pitt, is expected to visit the showcase with Pitt during the summer.

All proceeds from the Style of Jolie line go towards the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, Jolie’s charitable foundation. With the proceeds of the pieces that have been sold since the line’s launch in late 2010, the foundation has just finished building a school in Afghanistan. Procop plans for the limited-edition Style of Jolie collection, which had previously been sold only by private appointment, to launch at select boutiques from September in countries including Russia, China, the U.S. and Turkey. “We’re looking for quality jewelers who have a heart for the charity as well,” said Procop.

Vintage Bridal Exhibit Opens in French Château

Those looking for wedding dress ideas should check out a new exhibition at the Château de Haroué entitled “Les Plus Célèbres Robes de Mariée” (in English, “The Most Famous Wedding Dresses”), curated by retired designers Hubert de Givenchy and Philippe Venet. The 18th-century castle, which is based near Nancy in France’s Lorraine region, was built and is still owned by the Beauvau-Craon family.

Princess Beauvau-Craon is playing host to the summer exhibition, which showcases vintage bridal designs by couturiers including Christian Dior, Cristóbal Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Balmain, as well as the show’s directors. Many of the dresses are on loan, while some hail from fashion collections, such as a gold and pink embroidered organza creation that featured in Givenchy’s fall 1992 couture collection. Also on show is a copy of the wedding gown designed by Elizabeth and David Emanuel for the late Princess of Wales, on loan from the Museo de la Moda fashion museum in Santiago, Chile.

Wedding dresses by Hubert de Givenchy and Cristóbal Balenciaga.

A wedding dress by Christian Dior, 1957.
